ReJoySing
Purpose: We just like to sing! We are not preparing for any performance. We are not replacing any other choir. Keryn and I now have two kids and it is hard to take them to our ward choir with us.
Rules: We want to be very informal. Here are a few guiding principles.
- Feel free to bring children, friends, or food. (It is hard to sing and eat, but if you want to try it...)
- This isn't an exclusive club. You're welcome to join as so long as there is room in our home.
- We stick to copyright rules. No photocopying music without permission. That means we'll use a lot of publicly available music from the Internet.
- Participation is TOTALLY optional. There is no guilt if you don't come. We're not preparing for anything, so you aren't letting anybody down.
- We'll try to set up a regular schedule, but we reserve the right to shift things as necessary.
- We'll try to notify everyone via email of what we're going to sing and when we're going to meet.
- We are open to suggestions! Part of the time of each session will be left to the singing choices of the group as a whole.
- Bring a hymnbook.
- If participants want to purchase music to sing, we're okay with that as long as we obey copyright rules.
- Bradley isn't a fabulous pianist. He's happy to play, but if you can play a song better, you're welcome to play! No offense taken.
- We'll print out music as needed. You're welcome to print your own copies before you come or you can use our copies when you arrive. Obviously this only applies to free music.
